Style Dare: The Romper

June 30, 2010 § Leave a comment

I have officially embraced the new trend: the romper/jumper! This hot new number showcases toned, summer-bronzed legs and sun-kissed shoulders with its easy slip-on/slip-off style.

In all honesty, I was skeptical of the towering trend. After my first romper purchase, I waited over two weeks to parade outside my house in my floral ‘onesie’. In response to the rave reviews and numerous compliments, I have since collected just a few more jumpers in several different patterns and solid prints.

1. Dainty Floral Jumpsuit – $24.00

2. Fluro Playsuit – $65.00

3. Linen Frill Playsuit – $80.00

4. Premium Playsuit – $110.00

You Look Good In My Shirt

This past week I made a daring road trip to the cow-capital of Colorado with one of my roommates. Our reason for the hour-and-a-half drive to farmland, gas stations, truck stops, rodeo events and barns? Ketih Urban. His long-haired handsome self performed for a crowd of raging Greeley cowboys and cowgirls. I slipped on my dancing boots and a flannel and belted out some of my favorite lyrics till midnight on Saturday.

Pink Houses

In just a month I will be making the transition from one college off-campus living duplex to another. This means new roommates, new bedding, new kitchenware, new walls and new carpets. Instead of decorating our windowsills with empty alcohol bottles and cardboard cereal boxes, I will infuse the stained walls with prettier hues of pinks, eggplants, yellows and sage. White paint is boring! If I can paint a canvas, I can paint a wall, right?

I stole some ideas from Real Simple magazine…

“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it.” – Danny Kaye

Wednesday at the Farmer’s Market

June 16, 2010 § Leave a comment

Every Wednesday and Saturday the local farmers from Boulder County build their tents near the creek to shade their fresh homemade pies, gourmet cheeses, aged wine, roasted beets, pickled carrots, and fresh fruits. In the company of dogs, bikes, and live music I tasted the spicy ingredients from El Salvador’s traditional pupusas stuffed with artichoke and garlic. For dessert I sipped on a papaya smoothie. I returned from the market over an hour ago and am still full though I plan on going back on Saturday for more! Margarita pizza and some long-stemmed sunflowers? Yes, please.
