One day I will own a card stock company. Until then, I will continue to photograph my favorites.

Find the Time

find the time.

the time to read,

to smell the flowers,

to paint your dreams,

to have coffee with a friend,

to learn a new craft,

to bake a surprise cake,

to go somewhere special,

to really be with the person you love,

or even just do nothing for a while.

find the time.

A Short Trip

From broken-in boyfriend shorts to pleated printed shorts, the high-rise fit or the rolled cuff styles of this season’s shorts are sure to flatter. I’ve picked out of a few of my favorites and have already picked out some strappy sandals and cork wedges to match! Perfect for a summer barbeque or poolside lounging. Try belting these shorts for a more fancy, put-together look.

3. Anthropologie Dotty Short, $88.00

“Sometimes running is the only way to fight your fears.”

Today, I got some new kicks. (The old ones are beat but I can’t bring myself to toss them out…)

There is something about receiving a letter in the mailbox that makes me smile so big. Yes, e-mail is immediate and texting is easy, but old-fashion mail is of my favorite. I have maintained a four-year-long penpal relationship with a best friend from high school and even occasionally mail a ‘missing you’ card to a boy I love in Boston. This morning (after my daily yoga practice) I was greeted by the mailman with a letter specificcaly addressed to me! Living with four roommates, this is of glory. One of my oldest family friends (of whom also painted me the most gorgeous picture of sunflowers for my graduation) sent me a hand-painted and beautifully crafted card with a painting of a polka-dotted chair on the front. Inside she wrote, “Dear Samantha, When I first met you, you had on a polka-dotted dress in blue. So I thought this was appropriate. Congratulations. I hope that your creativty, your spirt and your love of family lead you on wonderful adventures and love in the work and in home. To a very special woman! Love, Jan and Phil”

My heart is so full of life right now. And an inkling to paint!

Destination: Europe

May 14, 2011 § Leave a comment

My trip to Europe is 109 days away (but who is counting?). I have an ongoing packing list in my head that I regularly update. I figured I share with you some of my must-takes. In most of the travel books I have rented from the library, there is a fashion section that clearly and boldly states that an ‘underdressed’ traveler will most certainly present themselves as a ‘tourist’ and so, will most likely receive tourist treatment. I would like to avoid this. And so, bringing along with me the most fashion-forward, yet versatile and comfortable, clothing is necessary to insure a successful and savvy trip. Here are just a few of my staple garments.  Can you tell I am excited?

1. 7 for All Mankind Trouser Pant, $169.00

2. Anthropologie Weeping Willow Hat, $42.00

3. Urban Outfitters Staring at the Stars Chiffon Maxi Dress, $79.00

4. Gap Floral Watercolor Scarf, $29.95

5. TOMS Shoes, $50.00

6. J.Crew Calf Hair Leopard Print Belt, 42.00

7.. Marc Jacobs Ava Crossbody Bag, $650.00
